What It's All About!

Recently, I had an amazing time working on the Church Facilities Expo (CFX) in Birmingham, Alabama. The convention center is truly great! I really like Birmingham. The team from the convention and visitors bureau were kind and welcoming. The restaurants are amazingly great and plentiful! The airport is so close, I couldn’t even get through my texts on the Uber ride before we pulled up!

What made this experience truly special was getting to work closely and solve problems with people that I truly care about. Jim, Stephanie, Brian, and Deidre from CFX are all about a partnership. Kerrell, Sally, Ferrell, and I felt completely welcome and autonomous enough to be able to use our experience to solve, fix, redo, replace, and elevate. We also had a new partner on this show with AEX. They were visible from before the show floor was marked to the very end on the docks during load out.

For every challenge, we were in concert with our CFX partners. It felt good. Real good.

After the show, we even had a group dinner at a remarkably fun and great restaurant called Ovenbird. I had this unique moment where I just looked down the table and took it in. The feeling of post-show success, the feeling of camaraderie, the feeling of familial warmth. I looked up and saw my client Jim and knew at a glance he was doing the same thing as me. Enjoying that well-earned moment. It felt good to have that moment in the moment with Jim!

I love being part of helping SRE’s amazing partners achieve their goals. It is what we promise and deliver. What makes this great is simply how fulfilling it feels!
