Shoutout Governor's Cup!

Some thoughts and thanks for a new event! March 21st, 2026 Recently, I have been back on the road! I was able to be a part of an amazing new event, the Governors’ Cup in Washington, D.C. The backdrop for this event was the famed Constitution Hall, right in the city near the Mall and the White House. This was a unique concept by our new client Experiential that sought to connect robot teams from each state to their own governor so that the governors could see what STEM in action looks like.

In conjunction with FIRST and the FIRST Chesapeake organization, Mindy worked hard for many weeks beforehand transforming an existing theater into a hard deck robot competition arena. With a scent of spring in the air, our nation’s governors arrived one by one and were treated to tours by student ambassadors, ultimately leading them to see their own team and robot matches. I am proud to say that my home state team of New Hampshire treated all of the other teams and volunteers to large bags of Lindt chocolates.

I am also in admiration of Mindy’s leadership, both pre show and onsite, and of the overall success of a challenging first year event. We are hoping that this show will return and that we get to stay a part of it!
