How the Next Generation Is Carrying the Torch

May 31, 2025

It occurred to me a few weeks ago that I had not one, not two, but three kids of long-time event professionals working for Show Ready Events.

At Show Ready Events, experience runs in the family. From Wynn Brumbach to Greg Sargent, the next generation of event professionals is already proving that lineage and fresh perspectives make a powerful team.
Heidi and Wynn Brumbach

First, is Wynn Brumbach, from Orlando, whose mother, Heidi and I have tackled events together in both the U.S. and Canada for many years. I also found myself working two different shows with Greg Sargent, whose father, Steve Sargent has taught me more about audio-visual production than anyone else over the years, in one city after another.  AND my own son Kacey put on his SRE gear and went on the road to work as an event assistant for five different events. Lineage.

Recently, I got a random text from Jennifer Horne telling me that Wynn was doing an amazing job in Orlando with her and sent me a picture of her smiling on the job site. Just like her mom!  Heidi was always doing the same– an amazing job and smiling! Greg easily gave me a different way to handle a technical issue in NYC at the production deck. Smart. A better way.  Just like his Dad, Steve.

I was happy to receive numerous positive texts and emails regarding Kacey’s performance from the multiple event locations he was at. I was not surprised, but it made me happy nonetheless. Kacey has spent time with me at event sites over the years, has a good personality and likes to solve problems.

It may seem like I am trying to simply link each progeny’s success to their lineage. Maybe I am.  It is sort of fun to see!  For me, it will be more interesting to see what differences they will bring to the table in the future.  At least in Kacey’s case, I am sure he will be better than his father!
